Privacy policy

Privacy policy

This policy explains how Brindlewick ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data when you visit brindlewick.co or buy from us. We are the data controller for this information. This policy applies to customers in the United Kingdom, the United States and anywhere else we ship. Questions? Email hello@brindlewick.co.

What we collect

Order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you bought.

Payment details: processed securely by our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal and others). We never see or store your full card number.

Device and usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed and how you arrived on our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.

How we use it

To process, deliver and support your order (contract).

To handle returns, refunds and customer service (contract / legitimate interests).

To prevent fraud and keep our store secure (legitimate interests).

To improve our website and measure advertising, including through Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok (consent, via our cookie banner).

To send marketing emails, only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email (consent).

To meet our legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us run the store: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment providers, our fulfilment partner and delivery couriers (to ship your order), Google (email), and advertising platforms such as Meta and TikTok (if you've consented to marketing cookies). Some of these providers process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations) are in place. We never sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting rules, and to comply with record-keeping requirements in other countries we sell to. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is deleted when it's no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, object to processing, request a copy to transfer elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@brindlewick.co and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

If you live in the United States

Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. If you have consented to advertising cookies, some data may be shared with advertising platforms in a way that counts as "sharing" under some state laws — you can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie banner, or through the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@brindlewick.co. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the store work, and optional analytics and advertising cookies only with your consent. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
